Latouria Dendrobiums

It is not often that we receive magazine content that is of such high quality that we wish we could devote a whole issue to it. But we have a rather long, very excellent article that will not fit in a regular magazine and will not serialize well. Thanks to the generous support of our members, we will be publishing this article as a special 32-page magazine supplement that will mail with the regular October, 2010 issue of ORCHIDS magazine. This "13th issue" is written by Australian, Phil Spence, one of the world's leading experts on the Latouria section of the genus Dendrobium. This special supplement will cover species as well as recent trends in hybridizing. If you are looking for something different to add to your orchid collection, these unusual orchids might just be the ticket. Plants can be large or small and there are species and hybrids suitable for nearly any growing situation.

If you still wish to contribute, any monies received above the actual cost of production and mailing for the Latouria Dendrobium supplement will be held in a special account for future special publications. Nothing would make us happier than to be able to give AOS members 13 issues a year!
