& Mid-America Orchid Congress Fall Meeting

The orchids of New Guinea have been the focus of much of Dr. Ed de Vogel’s distinguished career as researcher and curator at the National Herbarium of the Netherlands at the University of Leiden. Dr. de Vogel will discuss "Bulbophyllums of New Guinea" as the keynote speaker Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Haunting Beauty Orchid Expo and Mid-America Orchid Congress Fall Meeting presented by the Orchid Society of Greater Kansas City. The program also will feature Dr. Mary Gerritsen on "Masdevallias, Selected Species and How to Grow Them". Tom Mirenda, orchid collection specialist at the Smithsonian Institution and Orchids columnist, will regale the banquet crowd with "Orchid Travels in Costa Rica". Dr. de Vogel will return to the stage Sunday, Oct. 28, to address "Dendrobiums of New Guinea". Full registration is just $60. A partial registration for Saturday is also available.
