Challenge-to-Cattleya-walkeriana-2018-01-19***Determined to be Cattleya cf. walkeriana (Mar 2022); based on the opinions of several notable Brazilian experts, whose opinions varied from a hybrid, possibly C. x-dolosa x C. walkeriana, to the true species; the hybrid opinion was based on the side lobes not being open enough, however, the sepals, petals and column looked like C. walkeriana; SITF has cleared this as C. cf. walkeriana with the possibility that it may be a hybrid involving C. walkeriana and C. harrisoniana in some combination.***

There has been a challenged lodged that this award is not really a species. The JC has asked SITF to look at the flower and determine whether or not this is a straight walkeriana.
