inflorescence; mounted on a 7.5 cm diameter by 30 cm long log; old stems woody,

new growth stems suffused purple, alternate leaves elliptical to 3.2 cm wide by

9 cm long veined purple; sepals reverse suffused purple; substance firm;

texture waxy; recognized for its rarity in cultivation and educational value; plant
