Masdevallia-planadensis-2019-03-16

Masdevallia-planadensis-2019-03-16***Determined to be Masdevallia ximenae, based on the yellow sepals with purple markings (May 2019); based on new information, SITF reviewed the previous determination and has now confirmed this plant to be Masdevallia anisomorpha, not M. ximenae (Apr 2020); photos are an exact match to photo in Zelenko's 2014, Orchids: Masdevallia with segregates including Dracula" under the Subgenus Meleagris; also an excellent match to Sijm's photos in the SOF, including the yellow caudae; the photo in IOSPE is also a very close match and the book, "Native Colombian Orchids Vol. II" shows plants of M. anisomorpha that are very similar, but with cordovan caudae.***
