Sudamerlycaste-barrowiorum-2020-03-30***Confirmed as Sudamerlycaste barrowiorum (Jun 2020); based on the distinguishing features and matching photos described in Oakeley's 2003 Orchid Digest Article; S. barrowii has short thin pseudobulbs with very fine keels on the callus, osmophores on the midlobe and side lobes, small lacerations on the proximal margin of the midlobe and a crescent shaped viscidium to the pollen stipe, which all match this plant; flowers on this plant are a bit larger than in the Oakeley article, due probably to the lateral sepals having a wider spread carriage, instead of being more strongly falcate.***
Sudamerlycaste barrowiorum is now synonymous with Ida barrowiorum (corrected Dec 2023) (SITF)
