Jeanne Buchanan
As owner of Folio Communications, Jeanne Buchanan serves as consultant and advisor to company owners and executive management teams to address strategic marketing-related issues.

Skilled at establishing and managing relationships with key internal and external audiences, Jeanne has developed key marketing messages and executed comprehensive marketing communications programs to enhance the reputation of corporations, build support for their initiatives and strategically position them for maximum market valuation. An issue-spotter able to respond to fast-changing internal/external environments, Jeanne served as the communications executive during four corporate mergers, and is especially adept at crafting key market messages to influence strategic change.

Jeanne’s professional career includes senior management positions in marketing, corporate communications, investor relations, public relations and media relations with Fortune 500 companies such as Apache Corporation, Pennzoil and Devon Energy.

She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

Equally passionate about her orchid-related career, Jeanne serves on the American Orchid Society’s Board of Trustees. She chairs the Audit Committee and serves on the Membership/Affiliated Societies, IT and Public Relations Committees. She previously served on the Publications Committee, contributing articles for ORCHIDS magazine and writing content for various other outreach media. A perennial officer of the Alamo Orchid Society, Jeanne co-chaired the AOS’ Fall Members Meeting held in San Antonio in 2011.

An orchid hobbyist and accredited AOS judge, Jeanne grows primarily cattleyas, bulbophyllums, paphiopedilums and catasetums in her greenhouse in the Texas Hill Country.
