See bios below.<br /> <br /> <u><strong>David Edgley</strong></u><br /> <br /> David has been growing Phalaenopsis for decades, introduced to them as a teenager living on a Navy base in the Philippines. A hobby grower, David has been active in local societies and shows, spreading the good news about Phalaenopsis. In his small and rather crowded (10’x12′) greenhouse in the Pacific Northwest, David grows hundreds of orchids, primarily Phalaenopsis. In addition, David has made several of his own crosses. He is an accredited American Orchid Society judge, member of the board of trustees of the AOS, serves on various AOS committees, and is treasurer of the International Phalaenopsis Alliance (IPA).<br /> <br /> <u><strong>Peter Lin – Big  Leaf Orchids</strong></u><br /> <br /> Peter Lin started growing orchids as a hobby over 30 years ago, adding to this expanding orchid hobby with his own hybridizing. He started his company, Big Leaf Orchids, in 1996, a family owned operation in Southlake, Texas, specializing in Phalaenopsis orchids. Peter travels to Taiwan annually to see the newest in Phalaenopsis breeding, allowing him to hand-select new varieties for his clients and incorporate many into his hybridizing program.  Peter specializes in growing Phalaenopsis because their flowers are long lasting, 2 to 3 months indoors and even longer in a temperature-controlled greenhouse. Peter has been recognized with numerous AOS awards, one of the most prestigious honors in the world of orchids.  His other interest in orchids includes the genera Vanda, Cattleya and Paphiopedilum.<br /> <br /> This time, Peter will give us a talk on the latest trends in Blue Phalaenopsis Hybridization.<br /> If attendees are interested,  Peter will be taking preorders.  Attendees can review the current list of plants on his website:  <a href="https://bigleaforchids.com/">https://bigleaforchids.com/ </a>   There will also be an assortment of plants for sale.<br /> <br /> <u><strong>Mike Mims</strong></u><br /> <br /> Mike Mims, a boutique-hybridizer from North Carolina, who has already garnered several AOS awards for his Phalaenopsis, including highly coveted FCC/AOS awards and many other AM/AOS and Cultural awards. Mike has been focusing his breeding program on fragrant brilliantly colored waxy novelties.<br /> If attendees are interested,  Mike will be taking preorders.  Link to pre order list coming soon.
