Dryadella-elata-2022-01-27

Dryadella-elata-2022-01-27***Determined to be Dryadella simula, not Dryadella elata (Feb 2022); identified with the aid of Alfonso Doucette; sepal, petal and lip shape, as well as the color, are not correct for D. elata; this plant does not match Luer's line drawing and Alex Hirtz's photo of D. elata; this plant closely matches D. simula in Ecuadorean Orchids II, Colombian Orchids I and the Orchidacearum Peruvianum; however, there are many similar Dryadellas and without a detailed photo which shows the distinctive toothed petals, the identification cannot be 100%.***
