Nineteen flat flowers and 18 buds on 19 sequentially blooming inflorescences that emerge from the base of the leaves and are presented over the leaf; plant habit scrambling, pendulous; thin leave stems up to 12 cm; leaves cordate 5 x 7 cm; plant mounted on a cedar plank covered with moss; sepals translucent yellow; bilobed petals orange yellow; lip bright orange; column magenta; anther cap translucent yellow; substance firm; texture crystalline; charming, colorful flowers; per WCSPF plant is endemic to Costa Rica; tentatively awarded as Lepanthes sotoana Pupulin, Bogarín & C.M.Sm., Lankesteriana 9: 427 (2010); sent to SITF per the Handbook;Franco Pupulin, who is the botanist that described the species and was present at the show, tentatively verified identification pending final determination by SITF.
