Phaius-mishmensis-Timbucktoo-CBR-2021-12-24***SITF determined this plant to be Calanthe mishmensis (Sep 2022);
Photo in the IOSPE is almost an exact match to this in both the plant habit and flower morphology; the line drawing and photo in the SOF supports this finding as well; the Genus Phaius has now been sunk into synonymy with Calanthe and the WCSPF considers this as Calanthe mishmensis.***

Three very cupped flowers and seven buds on one laxly flowered inflorescense of 47cm; plant is one active fleshy, narrowly fusiform-cylindric psuedobulb enveloped by basal sheaths and carrying 6 apical, plicate, alternate, elliptic-lanceolate leaves up to 6cm wide by and36 cm long; sepal and petals light pink. sepals oblong, acute, petals oblong, rounded, margins slightly undulant; lip tri-lobed, white, spotted pink internally, medial callus white and finely hirsute, spur yellow 1.8 cm long; column white, pale pink wings, anther cap white; ovary green, ridged glabrous 0.4cm in diameter by 3.8 cm in length; substance light, texture matte. Species widespread in India, China, Japan, Southeast Asia and Indonesia. ID by SITF_________________
