Loren E. Batchman
Loren E. Batchman, son of Norman Batchman and Kathleen (Batchman) Fox of St. John, passed away in Solana Beach on his 72nd birthday, April 3, 2012.
He was an electronics engineer in the aerospace industry and long time orchid grower and hybridizer, founding and running his own nursery.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Nancy, and three children, Karl, Miki and Erika; his mother, Kathleen; brother Robert and wife, Charlene of Lincoln; stepbrothers, Jim and wife Judy Fox, St. John; Earl and wife Judy Fox of Great Bend; Bob and wife Bonnie Fox of Dighton; Jack Fox of Ellis; Don and wife Judy Fox from Spokane, Wash.; stepsister, Doris and husband Donald Keeler from Great Bend; many nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by his friend, mentor and teacher, Jim Hood of St. John.
A celebration of his life was held in May at the San Diego Botanic Garden.
Wilbur Chang passed away on Thursday, May 17. Wilbur was a lifetime member and Master Judge of the Honolulu Orchid Society. He gave numerous lectures and plant commentaries at the general membership meetings where he had a near perfect attendance record. Wilbur had many friends in the Society and the orchid community worldwide. He will be sorely missed.
Memorial services for Wilbur will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 12 noon at the Hawaiian Memorial Park in Kaneohe. Visitation will start from 11:00 AM.
It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael R.
Clark. Mike was a long-time member of the Tallahassee Orchid Society,
an avid orchid grower, and was well known to the local garden clubs
and nurseries for his lectures on growing orchids. He will be missed
but not forgotten.
