Overview
Small terrestrials arising from root-stem tuberoids. Leaves basal. Inflorescences erect, few-flowered scapose racemes. Sepals and petals free, spreading. Lip flabellate, bilobed, basally with a complex callus, extended in a spur which is fused to the ovary for its length. Column short, anther erect, with very short, sessile, bilocular stigmas.
Etymology
Named for the collector of the type species, Mr. Thulin.
Distribution
A monotypic genus endemic to the Nguru Mountains of eastern Tanzania. Closely allied to Brachycorythis Lindley, Thulinia differs by the verruculose callus and by the spur which is completely fused to the ovary.
