Care and Culture Card
See basic growing conditions and care information below.
Grow plants of Thunia in small pots with a medium-grade epiphyte mixture. During the growing season provide intermediate to cool-intermediate temperatures, bright light levels, and regular watering. After flowering the plants demonstrate a pronounced dormancy and water should be held to a minimum. After the new growths have grown to 1 in. (2.5 cm) long and begun a flush of new root-growth, resume normal watering. Plants of Thunia frequently produce keikis on the inflorescences which may be removed and potted after they have produced roots longer than 2 in. (5 cm) long.
