One star-shaped flower and one bud on two inflorescences on a well-grown plant 15 cm wide and 35 cm long with long, pendent terete leaves mounted on a ceramic mount 5.5 cm wide by 17.5 cm long, covered with sphagnum moss; flowers white, sepals and petals completely suffused bright chartreuse; sepals irregularly and sparsely striped dark maroon; petals longitudinally striped and blotched dark maroon; white lip; mildlobe, rounded apically; pleasantly ruffled, heavily striped dark maroon on proximal half, less heavily on distal half, side lobes very heavily striped dark maroon, keel hirsute, faintly dotted maroon; column dark maroon, anther cap white; substance firm; texture waxy on sepals and petals, lip crystalline; awarded as Scuticaria peruviana D.E.Benn. & Christenson, Orchid Digest 66: 64 (2002); per WCSPF plant is endemic to Peru; a charming and horticultural desirable Maxillaria relative.
