Papua New Guinea is perhaps the most culturally diverse nations on earth and the island, ranging from sea level to nearly 15,000 feet (4,500 m) over a remarkably short distance gives this island a treasure trove of microclimates and orchid habitats. David Rosenfeld fills us in on the life and times of Frederick Sander in part three of his series Who Were These Guys? and Chuck McCartney reports on efforts to save a very rare orchid (Tropidia polystachya) native to Florida.  How rare is it you might ask? Chuck includes pictures of three plants in his article and those three plants represent 3/5ths of the entire known population in South Florida!  Rounding out the issue, Dotty Woodson and Nile Dusdieker describe collection systems for harvesting rainwater; from large "industrial" applications to simple home-collection systems.
