Finding
SITF has determined this plant not to be Bulbophyllum cleistogamum, but probably an unknown hybrid (Jun 2026). Based on the dried specimen in the Kew/POWO, which shows an almost non-existent pseudobulb and the description of the Section Intervallatae which describes species in this section to have tiny to no visible pseudobulbs and long, wiry inflorescences that almost never hold themselves upright as this plant does. Based on the lateral sepal shape and size, this plant may be an unknown hybrid, possibly B. cleistogamum x one of the species from Lepidorhiza, like B. carunculatum.
