Hi
Patricia.
See
attached. Quality ain't great .... sorry.
Your
plant isn't B. lyriforme. It is close, but differs in having larger
flowers, petals ovate at the base, a less incurved column-foot, and the lip
being a different shape at base and apex.
I've
seen photos of your plant before, in a disc of unidentified Philippine Bulbos
circulated in 2002 by Jim Cootes (see attached). The plant on the disc
came from the Philippine island of Mindoro (B. lyriforme is from New
Guinea). Jim subsequently published one of these photos in the 2005 Australian
Orc. Rev. under the name B. cheiri Lindley (attached).
In
Bulbophyllum of Borneo (2015: 51), Vermeulen et al. identify 2
subspecies of B. cheiri, based on the length of the free part of
the column foot (ie, the bit beyond the lateral sepal attachment). In ssp.
subuliferum this is only 3-5 mm long. The plant in your photo has a much
longer free part; almost as long as the width of the lateral sepal.
So
I think your plant is a Philippine form of B. cheiri Lindl. ssp. cheiri.
Cheers,
Peter
