Finding
Sitf has determined this plant to be Bulbophyllum arrectum, not Bulbophyllum stellatum (Feb 2026). This plant is a good match to the previous award, Bulbophyllum arrectum 'Irene' CBR Award # 20214889. The key characteristics that separate B. arrectum from B. stellatum are in B. arrectum the stelida point straight down from the underside of the column, a ridge in the center of the lip and the rounded apex of the lip. In B. stellatum, the stelida point out from the end of the column and are held much more horizontally, the ridge is missing from the lip, and the lip is pointed. In this plant, a central lip ridge is evident in the main photograph, as well as the rounded lip apex. The stelidia are attached to the bottom of the column and start out directly down, although they do curve forward after about half their length.
