This was originally awarded as C. longipes, but has been determined instead to be C. Simplicity (1988) due to the shape of pseudobulbs which are ringed, the large size of the plants, and characteristics of the lip (June 2021).

From the contesting individual:
Just flowered a division of this plant and it is not a species but sadly a hybrid. The lip shape is incorrect, the plant itself is way to large to be the species. Francisco Miranda agrees also. The pseudobulbs are wrong, the lip is wrong and one of the growths is bifoliate.
