SITF confirms this plant as Gastrochilus sororius (Mar 2026). This plant matches the CBR from 2002, which was identified by John Beckner, a former taxonomist at Selby Gardens. It also matches the plant form of the dried specimen photo on the POWO.

Ten stellate flowers and three buds on one corymb inflorescence 0.3cm wide x 2.5cm long, chartreuse stippled maroon, mounted on piece of cork 6.0cm wide x 11.0cm long, plant 12.0cm wide x 19.0cm long, leaves oblong, margins entire, apex unevenly bilobed, medium green, largest leaf 2.0cm wide x 10.5cm long, root tips green; flowers pale chartreuse with random maroon spots on distal two-thirds; sepals and petals obovate with obtuse apex; lip saccate, white basal one-third, chartreuse distal two-thirds with random maroon spots, spotted red on the inside, distal lip white with a central yellow spot finely stippled maroon, margins erose; column pale yellow with a pale maroon halo basally, anther cap yellow; ovary 0.1cm wide x 0.7cm long, pale chartreuse, stipple maroon; substance heavy; texture waxy; species native to Borneo, Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi; ID by SIFT _______________.Plant came from Kelly at High Desert Orchids
