Six charming flowers and three buds on eight wiry, sequentially flowered, arched, pendant 6.0 cm inflorescences, and 12 additional active inflorescences, borne on a robust, cleanly grown, 12 cm high by 10 cm wide caespitose plant mounted vertically on a moss-covered 12.5 cm x 4 cm x 3 cm tree fern slab; 1.8 cm long ramicauls bear 1.2 cm wide by 3.8 cm long lanceoalate leaves; sepaline cup translucent pale yellow overlaid oxblood, darker marginally, translucent pale yellow vein centrally on dorsal sepal and at fused line of lateral sepals; minute petals pale yellow, oxblood centrally; substance medium; texture satin; recognized as a large-flowered, beautifully proportioned, unusually shaped member of a very diverse genus; species known only from type-specimen discovered in 1975, first flowered in cultivation in 1987 at J & L Orchids, and described in 1991; native to Columbia; confirmed by SITF
