SITF has confirmed this is Lepanthes sotoana (July 2018).
Nineteen flat flowers and 18 buds on 19 sequentially blooming inflorescences that emerge from the base of the leaves and are presented over the leaf; plant habit scrambling, pendulous; thin leave stems up to 12 cm; leaves cordate 5 x 7 cm; plant mounted on a cedar plank covered with moss; sepals translucent yellow; bilobed petals orange yellow; lip bright orange; column magenta; anther cap translucent yellow; substance firm; texture crystalline; charming, colorful flowers; per WCSPF plant is endemic to Costa Rica; tentatively awarded as Lepanthes sotoana Pupulin, BogarÃn & C.M.Sm., Lankesteriana 9: 427 (2010); sent to SITF per the Handbook;Franco Pupulin, who is the botanist that described the species and was present at the show, tentatively verified identification pending final determination by SITF.
