Nine colorful, stellate, cupped flowers presented in a congested umbel on a 5-cm pendant inflorescence borne on an 8-cm wide by 8-cm tall multi-growth distichous plant mounted on a small cork plaque; leaves green, narrowly linear lanceolate, to 0.2 cm wide by 5-cm long, margins entire; sepals narrowly linear-lanceolate, acuminate, translucent ice green tinged magenta distal half; petals broadly lanceolate narrowing to thin tails distally, pale magenta, latitudinally striped darker magenta on obverse, solid magenta on reverse, crossing distally; lip narrowly pandurate, pale magenta, side lobes deeper magenta; column purple, anther cap cream; substance light; texture matte; native to Costa Rica; recognized as a charming example of a species previously unseen by this AOS judging center.
