Malaxis crispifolia 2022-12-19; determined to be Malaxis excavata

Finding
SITF has determined this plant to be Malaxis excavata, not Malaxis crispifolia (Dec 2022); the name crispifolia implies crisped foliage, but there is no evidence of this in the photos, also the lip is distinctly tri-dentate apically, but the drawings of M. crispifolia in the "Orchids of Venezuela Field Guide" does not show this; this plant keys to Malaxis excavata in the Key to Malaxis in Dressler's 1993 "Field Guide to the Orchids of Costa Rica and Panama"; photos in the orchidroots.com are a close match between this plant and M. excavata.
