One attractively colored, well-open flower and one bud on two inflorescences up to 2.6 cm long borne on a miniature plant grown in live sphagnum moss in a 6 cm clay pot; leaves dark green, elliptical, entire, 1.8 cm wide x 3.0 cm long, held on 1.3 cm ramicauls; sepals chartreuse heavily overlaid by burgundy hairs, dorsal cauda chartreuse, 2.0 cm long, strongly swept backwards over slightly hooded dorsal sepal, lateral sepals caudae chartreuse, well-presented; petals yellow; oscillating lip yellow, burgundy basally, shiny burgundy callus at tip; column yellow, faint burgundy hairs, slight arch downward; substance firm, texture matte; recognized for exceptional size of flower in relation to plant and as interesting member of the Oscillantes section of the genus Masdevallia; native to Ecuador;
