Finding
SITF confirms this plant as Maxillaria ferruginea (Feb 2026). This plant matches the description in the unpublished Maxillaria book, Vol. 1, by Eric Christenson. The color is right. The growth habit is correct and the petal and lip size correct, including the keeled lip and needle like tip. One of the submitted photos shows the lip to be strongly keeled underneath, like the keel of a boat, with the apex turned under ending in a relatively sharp tip.
