Finding
SITF confirms this plant as Micropera utriculosa (Aug 2026). The genus is characterized by their rostella (the often oddly shaped extension at the end of the column). In this case, the slipperlike lip spur, broadly rounded and erect lip side lobes and the broad, downward pointing rostellum all fit this plant. The species and this plant are very distinctive in form and the brilliant color. This plant also matches a previously awarded CBR and a photo on the IOSPE.
