SITF confirms that this plant is Miltonia kayasimae (Sep 2025). This plant matches photos of the distinctive M. kayasimae shown by Grobler and Baptista. This is the only species with the combination of an extended lip claw and column wings that create a small hood over the anther.

This is already processed award is being submitted as the prior CBR from 2000 was never verified and we thought it important to try and verify this one for future reference.Thirty-four cupped flowers on six arched, 22.0-cm to 35.5-cm, inflorescences; sepals and petals elliptical, gold, gold halo basally, heavily overlaid dark brown on proximal two-thirds, veined yellow, margins lightly ruffled; lip spade-shaped, white, side lobes brushed purple, midlobe acuminate, crest made up of four keels, sparsely dentate, white, suffused and spotted purple; column pale green, distally overlaid brown, anther cap light yellow, overlaid dark purple; substance firm; texture glossy.
