Posted on March 01, 2020

Finding
Determined not to be Oberonia brachystachys; confirmed as Oberonia miniata (Mar 2020); O. brachystachys is a short plant with few leaves that are almost triangular; all flower segments have highly dissected margins and the lip is distinctly trilobed and flat; also, O. brachystachys has whorls of close set flowers which this does not have; this plant has a "Lockhartia"-type vegetative habit and green flowers with triangular lip and a small notch at the tip of the epichile which matches O. miniata; identified by Daniel Geiger, Ph.D., an expert in Oberonia taxonomy.
