advised that the name tag on the plants said, 'Phal. braceana, but the
exhibitor, LA Orchids, claims the name changed to Phal. taenialis, which is how
I entered it. The exhibitor now wants it entered as Phal. honghensis, and that
has us up in the air. I have marked the award provisional at the
suggestion of the team captain, Marilyn, and our Chair, Don Maples agrees.

In Ref 2, Stig Dalstrom, Ngawang Gyeltshen and Thomas Höijer claimed

that Phalaenopsis braceana is synonymous with Phalaenopsis taenialis

so this name should not be used.

In Ref 3, Stig Dalstrom and Paul Ormerod concluded that plants grown

and improperly named as Phalaenopsis braceana match to Phal.

honghenensis described by Professor Liu in 1991.
