Finding
SITF confirms this plant as Restrepia escobariana (Apr 2026). Restrepia escobariana is very similar to Restrepia elegans, but the Restrepia escobariana plant is smaller and densely caespitose. This plant appears very caespitose in the photos and is also a very small plant. It also matches the form of R. escobariana in Luer's drawing and the size of flower is within range. The descriptions in the "Icones Pleurothallidinarum Systematics of Restrepia" state the leaves of R. escobariana are narrow compared to R. elegans and the column is white compared to greenish white in R. elegans.
