Finding

SITF confirms this plant as Orchis italica (Sep 2024). The leaves, inflorescence, and individual flowers of this plant are an excellent match to Delforge's "Orchids of Europe, North Aftrica, and the Middle East". The flower form is unique to O. italica. Matches many of the photos in the orchidroots.com and Bakers' description and the photos on OW. The color of this plant is a little darker than many of the available photos.
