Symptoms
In many cases, leaves will begin to blacken starting at the tips and slowly working their way down the leaves. New growths may be stunted and new roots may stop growing when they touch the potting medium
Treatment
Flush plants with fresh water containing no fertilizer or rainwater. Repot into fresh medium
Prevention
The best prevention is periodic flushing of potting medium with rainwater, or at a minimum, water containing no fertilizers. Repot plants periodically and before the existing potting mix begins to break down.
