This month Laura Azandi, supported partly by an AOS research fellowship, reports on the work of her and her coworkers on the genus Cyrtorchis in Central Africa.  This group of angraecoid orchids has long been prized for their large, long-spurred fragrant flowers.  Also featured in this issue, Laura Bonnell begins her three-part series on the Dendrobium bigibbum complex and it's hybrids.  Her first installment focuses on the species, its two varieties and the nomenclatural changes surrounding this group.  Continuing her excellent novice series, Sue Bottom discusses the bane of our existence as orchid growers - bud blast and flower blighting.  Tom Mirenda also continues his examination of the Oncidiinae with a beautifully illustrated survey of the genus Brassia - those fantastic spiders!
