June 2016

The June issue traditionally features the winning article from the prior year's Gordon W. Dillon/Richard C. Peterson Essay Competition and announces the topic for the current year.  This year's winning article entitled Phrases That Confuse Me and What They Really Mean, authored by Eileen Hector of Tampa, Florida takes a lighthearted look at the subject.  In Eileen's words, "To some folks, growing orchids is serious business.  There is no doubt that there is always more to learn whichever type of grower you may be.  To those of us who grow purely for pleasure, we have a need to make learning fun."The competition's topic for 2016 is "Why I Grow the Orchids I Grow" and the deadline for submission is November 30, 2016.
