This month grower of Catasetinae extraordinaire, Fred Clarke, treats us to the first installment of his new series on this fascinating group of plants.  Part 1, titled The Cat's Meow: New Developments in Breeding and Growing Catasetums is not to be missed.  The plan is to publish new installments every other month.  Also featured in this month's issue is the first of two parts on the genus Maxillaria written by Esteban (Steve) González-Costa. This first installment covers the larger flowered species and the second installment will address the smaller flowered species and hybridizing in the genus.  Rounding out our features is a survey of the native orchids of Montana provided to us by 17-year-old Ansel Fiddaman.
