In the minds of many, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is little more than an endless expanse of sand, dotted with oil wells, camels, perhaps a few oases, and notmany cities here and there. This is by no means the case and Saudi Arabia is home to has several native orchids. In our March issue Dr. Joseph Arditti and Dr. Jameel Al-Khayri intoduce us these fascinating orchids. Carol Butcher gives us a survey of the beautiful hybrid genus Catyclia and some of the awards members of this genus have received. Rounding out our features is a spotlight originally written by Gene Crocker illustrating the variation in Cattleya mossiae, Venezuela's Easter Orchid.
