Twelve flowers and 25 buds borne on one vining, paniculate 170 cm staked inflorescence, many flowers and buds in groups of two to four on short lateral branches up to 4.5 cm in length; six growths plant 23 cm wide x 20 cm tall growing in a sphagnum moss mix in a 12 cm clay pot, the most mature growth consists of a 2 cm wide x 6 cm tall ovate pseudobulb sheathed by two oblong leaves and bear a single oblong, cuspidate leaf 4 cm wide by 13 cm long; sepals cream yellow heavily barred and overlaid burgundy proximal two-thirds; petals burgundy tippled cream yellow; triangular lip burgundy, inferior tip cream yellow, central crest and calli cream yellow stippled pale burgundy; colum light rose, burgundy distally; anther cap yellow striped light burgundy; substance firm; texture waxy; recognized as a novel, newly described (2007) species within the genus Cyrtochilum whose flowers, although diminutive, are nicely colored and well-proportioned; native to Peru; confirmed by SITF
