Finding

SITF confirms this plant as Elleanthus strobilifer (May 2025). This plant matches the photo of E. strobilifer in the May 2025 AOS "Orchids" Magazine Article by Gunther and Corina Gerlach. According to Stephane Marc Bailleul who researched, this plant corresponds with photos of E. strobilifer on orchidspecies.com and in Dodson 2001 and also fits Szlachetko's (2016), "Orchids of the Guianas : Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana" description, although it differs in some minor characteristics. The flower colour is first snow-white, then yellow, and finally purple with age, which matches this plant. It is similar to E. arpophyllostachys, however that species has golden yellow flowers.
