SITF confirms this plant as Encyclia hanburyi (Jul 2026). This plant almost exactly matches the Baker and Baker very good description of E. hanburyi found on the OW. It matches the Kew/POWO image of E. hanburyi and the photos on the IOSPE and the orchidroots.com. The flower size is slightly small, but within range.

One-hundred and thirty-eight cupped flowers and 303 buds on 17 long arching inflorescences branched sparingly to 0.3cm wide x 104.0cm long, reddish brown with chartreuse spots, flowers blooming on distal one-third of inflorescence; plant 65.0cm wide x 35.0cm tall; largest leaf 2.5cm wide x 26.0cm long, elliptic-oblong, apex acute, margins entire, thick, medium green blushed maroon, midrib maroon, pseudobulbs clustered 4.5cm wide x 6.0cm tall, ovoid, medium green with green sheaths that dry to a light tan color, root tips green; sepals oblanceolate with a narrow base and a sharp pointed apex, amber striped mahogany; petals spatulate, amber striped mahogany; lip orbicular with lateral margins swept downward, margins undulate, medium lavender with darker lavender venation; side lobes erect, oblong, cream overlaid mahogany on basal one-half, medium lavender distal one-half, darkerlavender venation; column 0.3cm wide x 1.0cm long, pale pink with chartreuse overlay on superior surface; anther cap yellow; ovary 0.3cm wide x 1.5cm long, amber with red-purple stippling on distal one-half,ribbed longitudinally; substance firm; texture matte; species native to Mexico; ID by SITF ______________.Plant came from Ecuagenera
