Finding

SITF confirms this plant as Lepanthes dactylopetala (Jan 2026). Researchgate publication: "Expedition Lepanthes (Orchidaceae) of Colombia: discovery of six new species and observations on a curious case of flower polymorphism" discusses the differences between L. matachin and L. dactylopetala. There is an excellent photo of L. dactylopetala in the article which is close to this flower although a little different color in the sepals. It matches the image of L. dactylopetala on the OW, including overlapping upright falcate petals. It matches the photo and Luer's drawing in the IOSPE.

Five flowers and four buds on nine inflorescences to 2.7 cm on a 16.0 cm x 9.0 cm x 8.0 cm plant growing within live moss on a 8 cm x 7 cm x 2.5 cm cork plaque; leaves to 1.5 cm x 4.4 cm, acuminate, dark green, veined burgundy; flowers borne on ramicaules shorter than the leaves, emerging from leaf axils; sepals sagittate, yellow, blood-red distally, ciliate; petals batwing, blood-red, golden-yellow marginally; lips wraps around column, bifurcated, blood-red; texture crystalline, lip glossy; substance firm; recognized for novelty and educational value.
