Nine flowers and one bud borne on erect inflorescences to 2.8-cm that are shorter than the pseudobulbs on a compact plant 40.0 cm wide x 20.0 cm tall, pseudobulbs clustered, ovoid-ellipsoid, subconical, ridged longitudinally, older growth displaying dark maroon blush, largest pseudobulb 1.3 cm wide x 3.7 cm long; leaves singular, borne erect on pseudobulbs, coriaceous, dark green, 2.1 cm wide x 28.5 cm long; flowers yellow with maroon cast; dorsal sepal oblong elliptic, margins recurved and entire, apex obtusely rounded and apiculate; lateral sepals oblong, slightly oblique, apices rounded and apiculate, margins recurved, entire; petals narrowly obovate, apices obtuse rounded, margins recurved and entire; lip subquadrate-pandurate, sidelobes forming fang-like structures, gold heavily overlaid dark maroon centrally, sidelobes overlaid lighter maroon appearing burnt orange, central disc farinose, red; column widest at apex, where it is broadly winged and arcuate, light chartreuse, column foot overlaid yellow; anther cap ivory, 0.25 cm wide x 0.3 cm long; ovary terete, shallowly ridged, 0.2 cm wide x 1.3 cm long enveloped in a lanceolate dry sheath 0.6 cm wide when unrolled x 1.3 cm long; substance medium, texture matte, central disk of lip appearing like crushed velvet; fragrance noted; species native to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama; ID by SITF ________________________.Plant came from Marilyn LeDoux at Windy Hill OrchidsThere is a Selby number on the tag 98136 SEL85-0602
