Finding
Determined to be Masdevallia nidifica, not Masdevallia ventricosa (Apr 2022); the most notable differences between M. nidifica and M. ventricosa are the sepaline tails; M. nidifica has very long and slender sepaline tails vs. shorter, thicker tails in M. ventricosa; this plant matches the longer, thinner sepaline tails of the two prior awarded yellow forms of M. nidifica; this plant also closely matches several of the photos of M. nidifica in the orchidroots.com and Luer's line drawing in the SOF.
