SITF confirms this plant as Meiracyllium gemma (Feb 2026). Identification is based on the wingless column, basally sac-like lip, creeping rhizomes and solitary, broad to roundish fleshy, leathery leaves. Good match to most of the photos in Orchid Roots, IOSPE and OW. The POWO shows the plant and unopened flowers.

Description: Eight flowers on three upright apical inflorescences up to 5.5 cm on a 17-growth plant 16.4 cm wide by 9.5 cm tall grown on a 15.0-cm square cork mount; stem glabrous, 0.1 cm wide up to 1.5 cm long; leaf elliptical, sessile, coriaceous; flower base color fuchsia; sepals and petals lanceolate; lip scoop-shaped, white, overlaid and veined fuchsia distally, throat yellow; column light pink, spotted fuchsia, anther cap fuchsia; substance firm; texture waxy; species native to Mexico.
