SITF confirms this plant as Prosthechea pachysepala (Sep 2024). This plant is almost an identical match to the photo of Prosthechea pachysepala identified by Cassio Vandenberg in the website inaturalist.org. The POWO herbarium specimen and photo match this plant and the photo in the IOSPE of Prosthechea pachysepala with good resolution and focus closely matches this plant.

Award Description:
Nine dainty, stellate non-resupinate flowers on one terminal inflorescence to 16cm on a 27-cm tall by 31-cm wide plant in a 10-cm wide clay pot grown in tree fern fiber; pseudobulbs flattened ovoid to 8-cm tall by 3.8-cm wide; leaves lanceolate to 22-cm long by 2.7-cm wide; sepals and petals lanceolate light chartreuse, finely speckled burgundy; lip spatulate cream, deep fuchsia apically, margins cream; column cream, speckled burgundy basally; anther cap cream; substance firm; texture matte; native to eastern Brazil; recognized as rare in cultivation and a charming smaller species within the genus.
