Stelis purpurea (Ruiz & Pav.) Willd., Sp. Pl. 4: 140 (1805). This name is accepted.

Stelis purpurea, award 20132009, has been confirmed to be Stelis maxima by SITF
(July 2013). Please add to the description that is was awarded as Stelis
purpureum and that SITF felt it fit the parameters of Stelis allenii, which is
considered a synonym of Stelis maxima.
