Vanda amiensis Masam. & Segawa, Trans. Nat. Hist. Soc. Taiwan 24: 212 (1934).This name is a synonym. Â Accepted Name: Â Â Vanda lamellata var. lamellata.
From Martin Motes Patricia; This the Taiwanese form of the species. Christenson reduced it to synonymy with V. lamellata. If it hasn't been published as a distinct variety we may need to do so in the monograph or separately.
Just hold on to this and we'll sort it out in the next year or so. The important thing is that we have the pictures and record.
There is also the new species from Laos that I sent in for Greg to photograph. I wasn't there and they snatched it up and awarded it too.
We'll publish that one too.
this photo was also included with the submission, I suspect it is comparing the normal lamellata with this submission. From Marin-- This is diagnostic for the article/monograph showing the Philippine and Taiwan varieties compared to var. Boxallii. FYI; there may be several species embedded in the wide range of V. lamellata. The very different plant architecture points to a convergence on a common pollinator.Â
Vanda lamellatia v. amiensis  has been confirmed to be Vanda lamellata var. lamellata by SITF (Nov 2012). Please add to the description originally awarded as Vanda amiensis.
