Finding

SITF has determined this plant to be Dendrobium officinale, not D. huoshanense (Jun 2026). This photo is nearly identical with the images of Dendrobium officinale in the POWO website. Dendrobium huoshanense was at one time considered a synonym of D. catenatum and D.officinale, but was separated and elevated to species status based on the broad violet band on the lip and 2-flowered inflorescences. It also matches photos in the IOSPE and orchidroots.com.

Thirty flowers and 20 buds on 29 inflorescences on leafless canes, borne on a 23.0-cm wide by 30.0-cm plant comprised of lanceolate canes, mounted on a 15-cm wide by 17-cm long slab of wood, non-flowering canes carried six lanceolate leaves; sepals and petals translucent pale green; lip recurved, translucent pale green, green basally, magenta centrally, overlaid white distally; column white, brushed magenta; substance firm; texture semi-gloss.
