Maxillaria pinasensis 'Caeley Taylor' CBR 2026-06-08

Posted on June 08, 2026

Finding
SITF confirms this plant as Maxillaria pinasensis (Jul 2026). This plant matches the drawing and as near as I can tell the description (google translation) in Zambrano-Romero and Rodolfo Solano-Gómez's article published in the "Revista Mexicana de Biodiversidad" in 2016. This plant compares morphologically with Maxillaria estradae. The main difference is that Maxillaria pinasensis has a single apical leaf (unifoliatte) and Maxillaria estradae is a bifoliate with (two) apical leaves. This plant, although difficult to see, is a unifoliate with a single, apical leaf coming off each pseudobulb.
